🏆🌟Westport Vet’s Local Hero Awards🏆🌟🌟🏆🌟🏆🌟🏆🌟🏆🌟🏆🌟🏆🌟🏆🌟🏆

🏆Westport Vets Local Hero Award for September 2020 is Rebecca Holmes.

⭐Westport Veterinary Clinic’s Local Hero Awards has been created to recognise and honour acts of kindness in the local community.

🏆Rebecca Holmes has been dedicated to the local community with Rebecca Holmes Photography Linlithgow Front Steps Project.

This is a project capturing the people of Linlithgow outside their homes, throughout the period of lockdown during the Covid19 pandemic.

🏆Rebecca visited and photographed over 270 households and businesses in Linlithgow to capture photos of families, couples, and people on their own during lockdown – all from their front steps!

🏆Rebecca is a professional photographer but instead of keeping the earnings from her front steps project photography work, she decided to donate all takings to a local charity, choosing the Linlithgow Young Peoples Project.

🏆The grand total raised for Linlithgow Young People’s Project (LYPP) was £4052, which when you add gift aid is well over £5000 that went to the charity!

🏆Rebecca created a fantastic local project, locking in memories of this time, and allowing people to have a keepsake, a lasting memory of these unprecedented historical times.

⭐Rebecca received numerous local hero nominations – a popular choice by local residents for her wonderful work and such a phenomenally generous act of kindness both to and for her local community.

⭐Local resident Laura Caulder told us:
“Rebecca has done this while juggling home schooling with 3 (yes 3!!) young children.
I think she is simply wonderful and would love to see her recognised as one of our local heroes.”

⭐Linlithgow Young Peoples Project told us:
“We are blown away by Rebecca’s creativity and innovation at this time as well as all the generous donations from the residents of Linlithgow who have donated to us via the crowd funder.”

ℹLinlithgow Young People’s Project (LYPP) is a youth project which was planted in the heart of the community, 30 years ago in partnership with the churches in Linlithgow.

ℹTheir purpose is to support the young people of Linlithgow and the surrounding areas in all aspects of their development, and to foster a sense of ‘hope’ in the lives and circumstances of the young people they come in contact with.

ℹEvery year they engage with over 1000 young people through a range of activities which enable them to express themselves in a wide variety of ways and create opportunities for them to learn about themselves and develop new skills.

ℹLYPP is a familiar face within local schools, offering support to tackle poor mental health, and run extensive holiday programmes.

🏆When informed of her Local Hero Award Rebecca told us:
“I had such a wonderful time doing the Front Steps Project, it was great to meet so many wonderful people making the best of a horrible situation.”

🏆Rebecca is a remarkable individual who has dedicated her time during the pandemic to helping families make lasting memories and bringing light in times of darkness. By donating her time, and takings, to her local community this kindness will continue to pay forward with the Linlithgow Young People’s Project putting it to good use in their help and support for the young generation of Linlithgow.

Rebecca is an inspiration, a true Local Hero ❤
