A dog of a life time our soul mate our friend,
Nothing prepared us for the loss at the end,
From a newborn pup to an elderly girl,
Our loyal companion you were our world,
Enthusiastic welcome on every return home,
Even if we’d been less than one minute gone!
A love for your family, hill walks (and cheese!)
With endless energy and so eager to please,
Our time felt cut short as we lost you at 13,
But we are forever grateful for what has been,
As people search a lifetime for that one special friend,
And we got to be yours right to the end
