Canine and Feline Socialisation and Habituation

Getting a new puppy or kitten is an exciting time, but we want to make sure that they become a well adjusted member of the household. It is really important that they are exposed to a wide variety of different stimuli that help them learn not to be worried or frightened by unfamiliar things. At the same time it can be easy to overwhelm them with too many experiences, so getting the right balance can be tricky.

Socialisation should be a fun and engaging experience for your pet. And for some it will involve lots of yummy treats to make it a really positive experience. For others it will focus more on toys and verbal praise. If done well it will lead to a more confident and outgoing pet later in life.
